Aim: this course is set to provide basic knowledge and understanding on planning and conducting military operations in difficult mountain terrain and in a multinational environment..
Objectives:

- create a common understanding of the operational mountainous environment;

- teach the fundamental principles of Mountain Warfare and the planning considerations of operations in mountain terrain;

- explain the particularities of Joint Functions in Mountain Warfare and the effects of the mountain terrain on operations and activities;

- introduce attendees of other more advanced NATO MW COE courses to the basic principles of Mountain Warfare, as prerequisite course.

Audience: participants of other NATO MW COE courses and anyone interested in the planning of Mountain Warfare operations.
Duration: approx. 4 hours.
